Looking Back: Sales Cloud at Dreamforce '18

    2018-11-01

In September, sales professionals from around the world attended Dreamforce '18. And because we think sales is one of the best jobs in the world, we wanted to highlight Trailblazers in sales throughout our sessions, keynotes, demos, and more. We also got to reunite with our extended customer and partner family, hear about how they're trailblazing in sales, and share updates about how we plan to make sales teams even more productive, intelligent, and successful in the future.

Here is a brief recap of sales highlights from Dreamforce 18:

    “Every Sales Team Gets AI”

Artificial Intelligence (AI) was a key theme at Dreamforce again this year. In our Sales Cloud keynote, “Now Every Sales Team Gets AI,” we told a story about how rapid advancements in technology are making it possible for smarter selling to happen anytime, anywhere, and on any channel. We also provided a first look at High Velocity Sales, a single, more efficient solution for next-generation sales reps. This keynote also gave us a huge opportunity to highlight several of our customer Trailblazers — like Airbnb — to showcase how they currently use Sales Cloud and Einstein AI to drive business growth across their entire organizations.

In keeping with the the title of our keynote, we also shared the latest on our AI solution: Sales Cloud Einstein — our always-on AI designed to deliver actionable insights, improve sales productivity, and promote adoption of sales technology. You can now take the Sales Cloud Einstein Readiness Assessment to see if your company and team are ready to take advantage of all the Sales Cloud Einstein features. By taking the assessment, you'll get a better understanding of how Sales Cloud Einstein can help you and your sales team have your best sales year yet.

Salesforce CPQ & Billing: Build recurring customer relationships

In the 4th Industrial Revolution, new and innovative business models are emerging based on recurring revenue and a focus on customer success. In the Salesforce CPQ & Billing keynote, following a dramatic episode of “Days of Sales and Finance,” we highlighted Trailblazers who have transformed their businesses by managing the entire customer lifecycle — from quote to retention — on the #1 CRM platform. Two inspiring transformation stories from Hitachi Vantara and Kronos really brought our latest product innovations to life.

Key partnership announced: Salesforce Pardot is even better with Demandbase

At Dreamforce '18, Salesforce Pardot announced a key B2B marketing partnership with Demandbase that brings account-based marketing, marketing automation, and CRM together for the first time — all on one platform. This partnership will give B2B marketers a better way to find and nurture leads at the right accounts, close more deals, and maximize ROI. Additionally, B2B marketers can now:

    • Build and manage B2B audiences directly within Salesforce via data pulled from Demandbase ABM and CRM systems, existing reports, and/or AI-generated recommendations.

    • Surface insights within B2B Marketing Analytics by combining Demandbase data with both CRM and Pardot data.

    • Empower sales with real-time account insights to close more deals.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for what’s possible when B2B marketers fully integrate marketing tech across marketing automation, CRM, and ABM platforms.

The age of intelligent marketing and selling is here. Businesses of all sizes will be able to undergo massive transformation and drive more revenue by tapping into the combined power of AI, analytics, and account-based marketing.
