    Marco is a globally recognized pencil brand and is owned by Axus Stationery (Shanghai) Company Ltd., one of the largest wooden pencil manufactures in the world. Since its establishment in 1992, Marco has been adhering to the concept of “Quality – Safety – Sustainability” for more than 20 years, which has been integrated into the DNA of Marco products.

    • Challenges

      • Using EXCEL and other traditional means to manage dealers and transactions was difficult to collect information, complex to operate, inconvenient for statistics analysis and easy to cause mistakes.
      • The rebates of the dealers were calculated manually each year and the rebate rules of each dealer were different, which meant calculation errors were inevitable and resulted in improper use of the gift and rebates.
      • Distributor placed orders by telephone and fax, while Axus could not provide them immediate feedback and inventory information.
      • Price fluctuation often happened during the order flow process, which caused that original order price was hard to check at the end of the order process.
    • Solution

      • Collect dealer’s information by SFDC, use SFDC report tool to calculate monthly and quarterly statistics and analyze transaction data.
      • By setting up rebate rules for each dealer, the system calculates each dealer’s rebate and directly link to the dealer's account .
      • Provide company's timely inventory information and real-time product price by offering the function of online ordering.
      • Set up product price change history; record price changes for future trace.
    • Effects

      • Salesforce requires no hardware, software maintenance, or building IT architecture.  Investment and maintenance cost is much lower.
      • Transparent order and inventory information makes it easy to check each dealer’s account status.
      • The effective and standardized system operation process greatly simplifies the sales processing work. Efficiency and accuracy have been greatly improved.
      • Dealer rebate management in SFDC provides better control of dealer’s use of rebate funds and has strengthened the connection between dealers and manufacturer.
